• what is it all about?

so here i was, trying to think of something to write in this space that would introduce me and my blog to you, and all i could come up with is "hello there". i would type a few words, and then of course delete them all, we've all been there, trying to write something on a blank sheet of paper, and it all seems so impersonal. so i was thinking about how frustrating it must have been for my friend to set up my blog, because i gave him little instruction on what i wanted and rejected many ideas, partly because i did not know exactly what i wanted, but after a few ideas it all started coming together … and finally so is this intro. it's amazing what a little inspiration can do. and this is really what it is all about for a creative professional.

so welcome to (er)inspire, i am excited to share my thoughts and my creative art with you. perhaps, what inspires me may just inspire you too!

solving your delivery problems…one bag at a time!

so, you’re a photographer and you recently sold a couple of canvas gallery wraps to your client along with some gift prints.  you receive your order from your print lab and proceed to carefully package the gift prints in a colorful box with fun tissue paper and a custom designed belly band.  you take a look at your gallery wraps that the client spent hundreds of dollars on and can’t figure out how you are going to package and deliver them.  you proceed to shove them under your arm and trot off to make your delivery.  really??!  isn’t there a better way??  and now there is…

you’ve seen my ‘laundry bag’ deluxe bags, now i would like to introduce you to the ‘laundry bag’ packaging bag!  sewn from a reconstructed t-shirt, these babies can hold a couple of canvases each and come in fun solid colors as well as white, black and gray.  feel free to embellish them any way you want: add buttons, bows, ribbons, tags, even screen print on them.

the bags in these pictures contain one 16×20 gallery wrap that is 1 1/2″ thick, but each bag can hold your framed art, canvas gallery wraps, mounted prints or other art up to 20×22 and 3″ thick.  since they are made of t-shirt material, they have some stretch.

some of the bags even have a fun t-shirt pocket on the outside perfect for holding a business card, thank you note, or wallet prints!

head on over to my etsy shop to take a look at the ones available for purchase now.  coming soon: ruby red, bubblegum pink, and charcoal gray……as well as some BIGGER bags for your BIGGER prints!

don’t see a color you need?  leave me a comment here on my blog or a convo message on etsy and i will see what i can do for you.  if you’d like to buy a bunch, let me know and i will put something together for you.:)

so your three year anniversary is coming up….you don’t know what to get your husband….your dress is hanging in your closet and hasn’t been sent into the cleaners for preservation yet…WHAT DO YOU DO??  a dirty laundry trash the dress session with me!  and that is exactly what we did…

cereus and seriously me

there are two events that only happen once a year each.  the first one is the flower of the night blooming cereus.  this pencil like cactus produces fragrant flowers that start to bloom shortly after sunset on a particular night usually in June or July here in the southwest desert.  the flower is fully open by midnight and then withers away by dawn.  Tohono Chul park held its Bloom night last Friday, July 16th.  over 1200 people decended on the park that night roaming through the desert with flashlights and cameras in hand to capture an image of this spectacular flower.  Donovan and I headed down there shortly after 10 p.m. and used our iPhones for available light.  yes, we were ill prepared.  a flashlight and a tripod would have been dandy, oh well, next year!  anyway, i got a few shots and this was my favorite of the night.

the other event that only happens once a year is my birthday!  so here is a little bit about me, the moon child:

i am now 37 years, but not old.  i am a lover and a big dreamer.  i am constantly working on myself and ask everyday for the wisdom and the strength to be a better person.  i believe in working smarter and not harder.  i love my boots and jeans and hate my legs.  my circle of true friends is small but i like and admire many people.  i am enrolled in the college of life and am majoring in creativity.  i hope to never graduate.  i love to be by myself but i hope others like to be around me.  i suck at remembering names and faces.  i believe in karma and that things happen for a reason.  i was born on July 15 and am a true Cancerian.  my desires are to feel safe emotionally, spiritually, romantically, and financially.  and just like the crab, i appear to be tough on the outside but for a few lucky people in my life you’ve seen my softness and sensitivity inside.  i am me.

hair show

last week i attended a hair and fashion show put on by the seniors of a local cosmetology school.  i was invited by one of the main photographers for the event and was told that i was more than welcome to bring my camera and could shoot whatever i wanted during the event.  well, it was a crazy hustle and bustle behind the scenes of the various segments of the show but i was able to steal a girl here and there and take a few shots.  here are a couple from that evening…

the evening light was sweeeeet!!
